Pavements and Pre-Show Q&A W/ Director Alex Ross Perry!
We have another exciting event coming to Hi-Way on Thursday June 12th, presented in conjunction with Kingston Film Foundation. An examination of the iconic 90s indie band, Pavements appears to be just another music documentary, until it doesn’t. A prismatic, narrative, scripted, documentary, musical, meta textual hybrid, the film intimately shows the band preparing for their sold-out 2022 reunion tour while simultaneously tracking the preparations for a musical based on their songs, a museum devoted to their history and a big-budget Hollywood biopic inspired by their saga as the most important band of a generation.
We will have the director of the film Alex Ross Perry joining us for a pre-show Q&A in our beer garden starting at 8pm. Before the film starts around 8:45pm.
The movie will be paired as a double feature with another 90s counterculture classic Mallrats.
